This week we are launching so many new and exciting units.
In Fundations, we are going to review short vowels and closed syllables that contain blends and digraphs. The students loved getting familiar with their 2nd grade fundation materials last week.
In Literacy, we will explore the 5 finger rule, decoding strategies, and explore characters while reading books by author Jory John. The kiddos will also begin to explore small moments, create an idea for their first personal narrative and begin the writing process.
In Math, we are launching our Guided Math. The students have received their animal group name and will begin to work on number concept/place value on their mathematical level. We will launch our after lunch math routine this week. It will be hard at first, but they will get the hang of it.
In Social Studies, we will focus on Patriotic Day and learn about different members of our community and how they help.
Reminder;
Daily homework of sight words and reading are a MUST;
Math homework will come home as well.
